The Business Development Associate role is for individuals looking for career advancement by leveraging existing industry knowledge and utilizing that knowledge to help support clients transportation/shipping needs. This is a sales position that requires candidates to have experience in either sales, procurement, or operations.


Key Functions:  

  • High volume sales activity
  • Prospecting
  • Cold calling
  • Calling on existing relationships
  • Maintaining client relationships
  • Leverage existing relationships with vendors and suppliers for prospecting
  • Bringing transportation services and cost benefits to clients
  • Full Truckload- Dry Van, Flatbed, Specialized
  • LTL
  • Intermodal
  • Consulting with clients about transportation and how it impacts their business
  • Providing supply chain solutions to clients to solve logistical needs and opportunities
  • Collaborate with Ryan Transportation Business Development Directors and Account Managers



2-3+ Years’ Experience in one of the below industries:

  • Manufacturing
  • Warehousing
  • Chemical
  • Construction
  • Agricultural
  • Equipment Rental
  • Freight forwarding
  • Government

Bachelors degree preferred, but not required.
