    The primary objective of the Business Analyst is to support and extend Shamrock technology solutions related to third party applications and transportation development projects.  This role will be expected to work with both our Shamrock business unit leadership as well as the Shamrock IT team. The role will create/contribute to business case development, requirements articulation, project/program planning, testing, training and ultimately helping to deliver technology solutions that support the growth of Shamrock.




    • Providing assistance to sales and customer-facing staff through training, joint sales calls/visits to key accounts
    • Diagnose and troubleshoot production issues and conduct system and application analysis to determine root cause of problems or malfunctions
    • Resolve user issues by reviewing application logs, recreating user errors and testing changes
    • Create workaround procedures when standard procedures have failed and ensures issues are resolved in a timely fashion
    • Work with our Development and Systems group to resolve more advanced issues when necessary
    • Effective requests management including logging, monitoring / updating, prioritizing and resolving emails and indirect inquiries in a timely fashion
    • Use analytical and interpersonal skills, to reconcile conflicts, cope with rapidly changing information, convert high-level information into detailed requirements
    • Differentiate user requests from the underlying true needs, and distinguish solution ideas from requirements
    • Work with business owners to convert high-level business and user requirements into functional requirements and prioritize requirements.
    • Manage changes to baseline requirements through effective application of change control processes and tools and manage system enhancement requests
    • Maintain expert level of business functional knowledge and current technology
    • Implement appropriate mitigation strategies that may involve compromises with respect to scope and schedule




    • Good verbal and written communication skills

    • Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn new skills
    • Well organized, analytical, innovative and problem solving
    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
    • Well versed in IT technologies and best practices
    • Ability to lead and work with teams, be part of a team, and understand team dynamics
    • Diverse business knowledge and the ability to illustrate the linkage between projects and desired business results
    • Well organized with strong detail orientation
